Privacy policy.
The short version: this website collects very little. We keep what you send us so we can answer you and bake your order, and your email if you join our newsletter. We don’t sell it, and we don’t track you around the internet.
Who we are
This website belongs to Renata Café & Pastries, a family-run Brazilian bakery and café at 163 Beale St in Wollaston, Quincy, Massachusetts. When this policy says “we” or “us,” it means Renata Café & Pastries.
What we collect
The cake order ticket. The form on our custom cakes page doesn’t send anything to us. It only writes a message on your own device. We receive it only if you choose to text it, email it or send it to us on Instagram.
What you send us. When you call, text, email or message us, we get what you share: your name, phone number, email address or Instagram handle, your event date, cake ideas and any photos.
Our newsletter. If you join the Clube da Renata, we keep your email address, your first name if you give it, and the page you signed up on.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps basic logs (IP address, browser type, the pages you visited and when) to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and tracking
We don’t use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics on this site, and our fonts are served from our own site.
Our visit page shows a Google Maps map. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies; Google’s privacy policy applies to that map. The only cookie this site sets itself is a login cookie for our staff when they update the menu.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and plan your cake or party order.
- To bake your order, have it ready on the right day, and reach you if something changes.
- To send newsletter members our specials and coupons by email.
- To keep normal business records, like orders and receipts.
Leaving the newsletter
You can leave anytime: use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or call, text or email us and we’ll take you off the list. We only send specials, coupons and news from the café, and we never sell or share the list.
Photos of our cakes
We love sharing the cakes we make on Instagram, TikTok and this site. If you’d rather we didn’t share yours, or a name or photo on it, just tell us when you order, or ask us anytime and we’ll take it down.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information. We only share it:
- With the companies that run our website, phone, messaging and newsletter emails, only to do that job for us.
- When the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information as long as we need it to answer you, make your order and keep normal business records. Then we delete it.
Your choices
You can ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Call or text (617) 833-3020, email renatapartycreations@hotmail.com, message us on Instagram, or stop by 163 Beale St.
Kids
This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us. No website or message is 100% secure, so please don’t send card or bank numbers by text, email or Instagram.
Other websites
Some links go to other sites, like Google Maps, Instagram and TikTok. Their privacy policies apply there, not this one.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
